  i make excuses for my ex and witness relatives telling myself that they're not responsible because they are under mind controll.

  but is that good enough.

  The Botchtower creates disabled thinking, self-righteous, holier-than-thou, haughty, judgmental, angry people. When one builds oneself on this kind of foundation, there is only one outcome that can be come from this and that is destruction.

  So Heaven are you saying they are not responsible they can blame the Botchtower for their behaviour

  I think its a question of being responsible for our behaviour, NOT allowing an organisation to dictate who we shun

  Good point Acylotes Even so I doubt that you would be deliberatly rude to people you choose not to associate with when you met them in the street like so many witnesses do

  We give them permission I was the same as you Nugget even had one around for dinner to encourage him back it always seemed so inhumane to me to treat them like dirt Now that I am on the receiving end I am convinced of it

  it's sad that someone is thinking bout that because of fear of being cast out by family.

  i don't know this person, but a mutual aquaintence who knows i was a jw told me.

  i'm going to try to relay info to help them.

  Erm, I hope you're not suggesting that God causes miscarriages?

  No I am not sugesting that But there is definately one instance in the bible where he did as a punishment I'm sure others will know the scripture I am not able to look it up for you at present My point is that there are no scriptural laws in the old testament that consider the life of the foetus sacrosant ( please excuse any spelling errors I am in a net bar and there is no spellcheck on this computer)

Can treating someone as if they don't exist be excused ? My mother didn't I asked her why She said "I brought you into the world your still my son". I think for many shunning appeals to some witnesses. Feeds their self righteousness What do you think?

  I think it's wrong no matter what.

  I was disfellowshipped for supporting my 14 year old daughters' decision not to have the child of her rapist. As a family we would have survived this tragedy but for the Elders poking their nose in.

  As mrs Jones says "It is none of your business stay out of it"

  Yes I believe in God and their are scriptures in the OT where he punished women by causing them to have abortions or would you prefer the more sesitive term miscarriages and none that condemn it

  Australian Convention Pioneer family Experience - We found our vegetables in the gutter..why do they wanna be Martyrs?

  a couple years ago district convention - a pioneer family with two kids explained how they had ran out of funds and had no dinner...as they turned the corner out witnessing they saw a vegetable truck had spilled some produce in the gutter and so "jehovah provided in our time of need..." i felt like yelling get a job you bum stop starving!!

  not encouraging.

  this week an elder with pnemonia discharges himself from hospital, promising to remain home...so he can go out preaching!

  as most of you know, my husband and i da's ourselves almost 8 months ago.

  the communication with my family stayed pretty normal.

  they would call once in a while and text me.

  I am soooo upset, depressed and everything. I usually do things impulsively but i'm thinking about sending them all an email saying how i feel and then just letting them know that i will be disconnecting from them from now on.....any suggestions in this situation?

  One suggestion They are disconnecting from you Their decision not yours Don't let them blame you Make that clear You want a normal family relationship like you are discovering with your non witness family It is their choice to shun you You don't agree with shunning that you think it is a disgusting practice

  about five years ago, john williams came to philadelphia, ms as a visiting bethel speaker for our special assembly day.

  i was well acquainted with him, as he had been to my kh before as a special weekend speaker, and also to a neighboring congregation.

  in his afernoon talk, he goes off about social network websites and he made this statement: "brothers, make no mistake about it, myspace is no place for christians".

  i should have posted this earlier for assistance.

  i left jw two months ago and since then my life has almost been a lifetime movie.

  long story short, my soon to be ex-wife believes i am full of the world, satan, etc etc.

  Been there The WT does a good job of turning the wife against you when your DF'd and have no intention of going back. Mine became paranoid convinced that I must be the devil incarnate. ( I started attending church ) Fortunately the kids were older the youngest our son was 15 and they chose to move out of the family home with me Had peace of mind after that No longer living with this crazy person. I did not contest the domestic violance order which she got from the courthouse after the police refused to give her one. Where are the bruises the police asked "He is cunning he does not leave any "she replied Later my son asked her Why don't you want to live with dad her reply "I cant live with a man that bashes me" My son said When did dad bash you She did not answer but changed the subject Imagine if she said that to her witness buddies they would not question that statement but sympathize with her not a direct lie but an inferance that leads to believing a lie. We fell in love and where happily married for nearly 20 years I got screwed by the control the WT had over my wife. Actually we both got screwed Cause if it wasn't for that cult we would still be together That's what really bugs me I couldn't find a way to overcome the mind control

  Sorry about the rant I do understand and Good luck with the court case ( oooh I said luck )
